Irene H. Karnish

Our precious and beloved Mom came to the end of her life on August 28, 2016.
She was born October 8, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Ignatius and Julia Benedict.
During WWII she worked in the "bomber" plant and married John Karnish in 1944. She retired as cook in the Livonia, Michigan public school system in 1981 after 25 years of service. Irene and her best friend and husband, John moved to Florida. She enjoyed swimming, exercise and her neighbors. She became an avid golfer and played until the age of 90. She was too modest to admit she had seven holes-in-one to her credit.
Irene was loved and thought highly of by all who knew her. She had a huge, kind and loving heart and always considered other's needs and struggles before her own. 
Preceding her in death was the love of her life, John Karnish. They were married for 61 years. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Stephen (Gladys) Karnish, Tana Brown; granddaughters: Kristin, Amy, Carrie and Lani; great children: Emily, Mason, Jack and Nick.
