John Albert Zydenbos, aka JAZ, died peacefully at the age of 72 on August 17, 2017 at his home in Hudson, FL. Born February 15, 1945 in Jersey City, NJ to John and Sophie “Jean” Zydenbos, John grew up in Totowa, NJ, graduated from Passaic Valley High School in 1963 and served his country in uniform for the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict before traveling to Germany under the employ of Raytheon for his strong technical aptitude. Later, John embarked upon what would be a lifelong profession in sales with leadership roles in the fashion, automotive, nutrition and real estate industries. His service and profession took him from NJ to Vietnam, Germany, New Hampshire, New York, Africa, Minnesota and finally, Florida.
John is survived by his loving partner Karen Jean Pierce Musket, his daughters Mechelle of Henniker, NH, Stephanie of Weare, NH, Samantha and her husband Jeffrey of Sutton, NH, Jonlyn and her husband Joe of San Francisco, CA; his grandchildren Reed, Cian, Savannah, Ila, Malcolm, Olin and Riana, all of NH; his sister Mary Ann and her husband Tom of Princeton, NJ, his nephew John, also of Princeton, NJ, and the mother of his children, Joanne of Weare, NH. John is preceded in death by his parents.
John was fabulous chef in his kitchen, a lover of cats, dogs, and teddy bears. A natural showman, John, also known as Jon or JAZ, had a passion for entertaining, whether it be with his newest technological or automotive toys and gadgets, or with his singing, guitar and piano playing. He loved being the star of the show, tinkering with his toys, cooking, a good time, wining-and-dining and traveling. Alas, after loads of compromising on the road to his horizon, John leaves this world and those that knew and loved him … dreaming of the things he’d do... to be where the lights are shining on him... as the real Rhinestone Cowboy…and riding out on a horse in a star-spangled rodeo.
Celebration of Life and Military Burial Service will be graveside at the Military Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
