Born 25 March 1941 St. Paul, MN; Died unexpectedly 22 June 2017 Hudson, FL

Preceded in death by parents Charles & Kaye Pohl and in-laws Robert & Lois Vincelette.  Survived by his wife of 48 years Carol, sons Jeff & Joshua, grandchildren Keegan, Madison and Ella; brothers John (Mary Jo), James, and sister Mary; brother-in-law Barney Vincelette (Carol); many nephews, niece, and extended family and friends.  Proud graduate of Cretin High School, Class of 1959 & University Of Minnesota Class of 1964 (BA Political Science).  Served as a Peace Corp volunteer in Ambato Ecuador, 1964-1967.  A lifetime spent in marketing/advertising/public relations for non-profits such as the American Heart Association to fulfilling his life-long dream of opening his own agency in Kansas City, Pohl & Lombard.  Ask Tom what he wanted to be known as in life & he would always say the same, “A damn good ad man.”  He considered himself to be one of the original Mad Men and the last surviving Democrat in Pasco County, FL.  He loved his Gophers, Twins, and Vikings and was a member of both the Knights of Columbus and Aripeka Elks in FL.  Memorial services will be held Wed. July 19th at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home, 2130 N. Dale St., St. Paul, MN from 1PM – 3PM immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at O’Garas, 164 N. Snelling Ave., St. Paul, MN from 4PM – 7PM.  The Memorial Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the repose of the soul of Thomas Joseph Pohl at 11AM on September 3rd at St. Michael’s The Archangel Catholic Church, Hudson FL.  Flowers can be sent directly to Mueller-Bies or if you prefer, please donate to hospice in his honor.
