William H. Schreiber

80, died peacefully on May 15, 2017, with his family by his
side in Spring Hill. He was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey
on October 2, 1936 to William and Josephine (Frazee)
Schreiber. He was preceded in death by his parents and
his brother David. He is survived by his sister Joanne
Meyer of Havertown, PA; sons Craig of Spring Hill, Mark
of NY, Eric of PA and Bruce of MN; eight grandchildren;
five great grandchildren; William was a graduate of Bucknell
University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration.
He served as Company Commander with the
28th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Infantry Division in
Vietnam from 1966-67 and 70-71. Among his numerous awards
and citations, he was the recipient of the Combat Infantry
Badge, four Bronze Stars and three Vietnamese Crosses
of Gallantry. After 26 years William retired to Florida where
he remained active in the VVA, VFW, Society of the 1st Infantry
Division, 28th Infantry Association, MOAA.
Visitation will take place 1-3pm on Saturday, May 20th at
Downing Funeral Home in Spring Hill. Graveside service with
Honors on Monday, May 22nd at 12:30pm at Florida National
Cemetery, Bushnell.
