Tarpon Springs, Florida / Nashville Tennessee, Joseph William Smith Ill, 90, passed away April 13, 2024 in Tarpon Springs, FL. Survived by sons, Roger Smith and his wife Lisa Barkow of Orlando, FL; Richard Raymond-Smith and his wife Laura of Kent, Ohio; three grandchildren: Spencer, Kyra, and Reece Raymond Smith. His first wife, Connie (Cuadra) Smith, passed away in 1985. His second wife Mariet (Ollander) Smith, passed in 2015. Mariet's sons, James, Eric, Michael and Jimmy (grandson).
Joseph served in the US Navy aboard the USS Princeton during the Korean War. He made over a 30 year career as a Dade County Property Appraiser. Mr. Smith was devoted to his church. He donated his time with the Knights of Columbus (3rd degree) and as a devoted usher in the Catholic Church.
He was born in Nashville, TN 10-31-1933, the son of the late Joseph W. Smith Sr. and Jessie (Saltzman) Smith who lived in Nashville TN. After serving in the US Navy, he settled with his wife Connie to Florida.
