Mary Ann Lesperance was born February 23, 1935 in North Adams, Massachusetts, the daughter of Philip and Cecelia (Galipeau) Pugliese. She was one of six children, Philip J., Norma, Joan, Shirley and Robert.
Mary was educated in North Adams before moving to Pittsfield, MA to raise her family. She moved to Cape Cod in 1973 with her second husband, Maurice Rancourt and his son Todd. After Maurice's sudden passing at the age of 48, Mary travelled the world solo for 9 months visiting over 15 countries including; Singapore, Egypt, Switzerland, Norway, Germany and Greece.
Mary had a voracious appetite for learning, especially world history. She is remember coming home from the library with armloads of books. She loved watching Jeopardy and awed her family with how many questions she could answer correctly.
Mary is survived by her daughter Cheryl Verani and partner Jim of Cape Cod, granddaughter Justine Verani and partner Luke of North Conway, NH and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son, Gregory Kamienski.
