Shannon Elaine Marchant (Lyons)

Shannon Elaine Marchant of Barrie, Ontario passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on March 24, 2024, while wintering at Timber Pines in Florida.  She is predeceased by her father George (Lyons) and mother, Jeanne (McCallum).  She is survived by her husband Wayne, children; Chris (Mandy) and Jen (Daryll), sister Laurie (Bob, predeceased), nieces Ashley (Lee), Emma (Will), Emily (Chris) and nephews Jacob (Sherri) and Frank.  She will be tremendously missed by her chosen grandchildren Logan and Reilly and her fur-grandchildren Hazel and Honey Bea.  Born in Owen Sound, her family moved to Barrie in 1975.  She met Wayne in the fall of 1976, and they married in July of 1977, with their children Chris and Jen arriving not long after.  Shannon had an enduring tenure in automotive sales and was still actively working as Fleet Sales Manager with Barrie Ford when she passed.  She was active in her communities in both Barrie and Timber Pines.

Shannon was a magnanimous spirit.  She approached life with passion, determination, and a deep sense of caring.  Her incredible generosity extended far and wide and she ensured the people in her life were always cared for, were well-fed and never thirsty.  She was always doing things big and small, so that they felt supported and special.  She was a master entertainer, organizer extraordinaire, skilled bargain hunter, thoughtful decorator, and excellent cook and baker.  She hosted countless events for others, and used all her skills making sure these occasions were perfect (and on budget).  She may have been small in stature, but she had a big personality and showed strength during challenges or adversity.  She was able to swoop in when times were tough, take charge, and somehow made the hardest things feel just a little bit easier.

Her tireless work ethic and genuine interest in the well-being also extended into her professional life, where she was an excellent salesperson and provided extraordinary service to all her clients, many of whom became close friends.

Shannon will be deeply missed and celebrated by all those who loved her.
