Clare A. "Hap" Hayes
5/9/1947 - 3/6/2019
Hap was born in Waterloo, New York.
He enlisted in the USAF in 1966
where he honorably served for 20 years
including Da Nang, Viet Nam and Thailand
during the Viet Nam Conflict.
He then continued his service for the USAF as a civilian
at Eglin AFB for the next 27 years.
He was an Honorary Life Member of the Elks for the past 30 years.
After retirement, he and his wife relocated from Valparaiso, FL
to Timber Pines in 2014 where he spent his time golfing,
cruising and making many new friends.
He was predeceased by his father Robert, mother Jolan and brother Robert.
He is survived by his loving wife Cassie,
son Sean Hayes, daughter Ann (Sean) Gray,
stepson Sean (Candace) Jones, stepson Ian Jones
and 7 grandchildren Brad Gray, Nicholas Gray, Aiden Jones,
Jaxon Hayes, Cailyn Jones, Madelyn Jones and Liam Jones,
sister-in-law Maureen Meyers, brother in law John Meyers
and 2 nephews Rory (Kim) Meyers, Ryan (Tara) Meyers
and one niece Kari (Tim) Bolognani.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude's Hospital for Children
or the Florida Elks Association in his memory.
