Kenneth L. Jarman

June 3, 1936 ~ July 10, 2017 (age 81) 81 Years Old

JARMAN, Kenneth L.

81, of Spring Hill, Fl. passed away on July 10, 2017 at HPH Hospice with his family by his side.  Born on June 3, 1936 in York, Pa., Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Gertrude and Earl Jarman, his brother Daniel, and his sister Doris.  Survivors include sons Kevin (Amy) and Keith (Kelly) Jarman, his much beloved and cherished grandchildren Kelsey, Riley, Ashley, Jacy, and Preston and former wife Carolyn, who was a supportive fixture by his side in his final months and days.

Ken was a 1954 graduate of Wilmington High School in Wilmington, De. where he participated in Track and Field and excelled in the classroom.  Continuing his studies at the Univ. of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, he embarked on a long and successful career in information technology with E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co, from whom he was retired.  Additionally, he was a past President of the DuPont Employees Credit Union, a longtime agent for Thrivent Financial, and a veteran who proudly served our country in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserves, and Delaware National Guard.

Ken was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Spring Hill where he served on the church council and was a head usher.  Prior to a host of physical challenges, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working outdoors on his always well-manicured landscape and lawn.  He was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and enjoyed watching his hometown Eagles and adopted Bucs.  With a back that gave out on him decades ago, he never once let near constant pain get in the way of working hard for his family, setting an example for his children.  As many who crossed his path can attest, he felt joy whenever he was able to lend a hand to people in need, organizing many charitable endeavors through his association with Holy Cross and Thrivent.

Services will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell on Friday August 4, 2017.  In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a charity he supported in honor of his sister’s memory.
