Ann Margaret Yearwood died unexpectedly and peacefully on October 31, 2024 in Brooksville, Florida at the age of 78.
Ann is survived by her devoted partner, Carlos Gomez; her beloved sister, Jean Serrant Cright; her loving nieces Donna, Beverly, Melissa, Jennifer and nephew, Chuck; and her “bonus children”, Ricardo, Ian, and grandson Jessai. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sylvia and Frederick; her sister, Monica; her brother, Charles; and her nephew, Anthony.
Ann was born on February 26th, 1946 in Trinidad & Tobago to Sylvia and Frederick Yearwood. She graduated from school with a degree in secretarial sciences. She first worked at the Telephone Company in Trinidad. After moving to the United States, Ann began working for the banking institution Bankers Trust.
Her family and all who love her remember her as a truly kind, loving human being who gifted everyone around her with support, encouragement and compassion.
Ann was passionate about politics, Caribbean culture and her family. She was a warm hearted, generous and witty individual who brought joy and light to all. She was a member of the Offsetters Cultural Club and a dedicated supporter of both her Brooklyn, NY and Florida communities.
The service is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Monday, November 4th at Downing Funeral Home 7254 High Point Blvd., Brooksville, FL 34613. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ann’s life. The family would like to thank Oak Hill Hospital and Encompass Health Rehab Facility for their efforts, care and help.
