Anne Logan Obituary

Anne M. Logan, 83, of Spring Hill FL, passed away on November 13,2024 at 2:30 AM with James Logan, her husband and his sister, Bettie Subkowsky at her side.

Anne is survived by her husband of 60 years, James Logan; her four sons David, Peter, Paul, and Michael (Heather); seven grandchildren Thomas, Jessica, Lucas, Ruby, Allyson, James, and Nicholas; and her brothers Donald and John McGrath.

Among Anne’s most admirable traits were her patience, positive attitude and interest in people.  She never, ever raised her voice. She could be in extreme pain, but no one would be aware because of the smile on her face.  She was truly interested in every person she met.

Anne loved watching birds eat from the bird feeder outside her bedroom window.

Anne made her own personalized greeting cards for birthdays and holidays.  All cards had pictures of the recipient at various times in their lives.

Annes’s career began as a schoolteacher.  She then moved to her main career providing family and individual therapy.  When her children were grown, she purchased a business, The Parcel Centre in East Lyme, CT.  The customers became like family.

Anne was an active member of St Vincent DePaul. She served as President for three years. Her specialty was going to the homes of the needy and seeing what they needed.  She authorized payment of bills for water, electricity, gas, and rent based on these visits.  One time she went to the home of a disabled man. He said he lived on bean sandwiches. Anne looked around and asked him “Would you like a bed?”  He said that would be nice.

Anne was a gold life Master in the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL). She played against the best players in the world, unaware of their stature. She also once bowled three game 500 series in duck pin bowling.

Anne always wanted a girl, so instead, she and her husband had 25 foster children. At one point they had four girls that were natural sisters, in addition to their four boys. So, the family was known as  “The Brady Bunch.”

A funeral mass will be held at St. Theresa Church in Spring Hill on Saturday, November 23, at 12 noon. The mass will be live-streamed.  The link to watch the mass is: saint-theresa.org
