Anthony Nicolini Obituary

Anthony Charles Nicolini came into this world on May 10th, 1988 in Dunedin Florida. From a very young age Tony was consistently looking to the sky. His love for aviation was obvious. He read his father’s airplane books to learn and identify the planes flying overhead.  Anthony spent many hours on the Flight Simulator computer program.  On this, he could fly patterns and navigate to different cities and destinations.  From there it was well known what he intended to pursue in his life.  Anthony attended Notre Dame Catholic School.  He was an altar server at St Theresa's Catholic Church during these years.  He joined the Civil Air Patrol in the 8th grade. While there, he received the prestigious Billy Mitchell Award in 2003.  He began pilot training and took flying lessons at the Hernando County Airport through Civil Air Patrol.  He made his first solo flight on his 16th birthday and received his Student Pilot Certificate.  Anthony attended River Ridge High School and joined the Air Force JROTC program.  He was a member of the academic Kitty Hawk Air Society.  While there, he quickly moved up in rank and received national awards to include the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Military Order of World Wars.  He served as Color Guard Commander and received Flight Commander during his senior year.  He proceeded onto college and was a member of the University of Florida's ROTC program.  He attended Santa Fe College and received his Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management from Jacksonville University.  Anthony had the opportunity to study abroad in Germany in the field of Air Traffic Control.  During this time he traveled to several European countries and Morocco.  After graduating college his love for aviation continued. Anthony made many friends along the way.  In his travels, he found purpose in helping people and giving them hope.

He will be deeply missed by his loving family, mother Cynthia, father Joseph, sister Ceara, brother-in-law Christopher and nephew Cohlton.  Grief is not a burden to be hidden, nor a weakness to be ashamed of. It is the deepest proof that love existed, that something beautiful once touched your life.
