Barbara M. Crummie

Barbara Mildred Crummie passed away on September 26, 2020 in Spring Hill, Florida

A viewing and funeral service will be held at Downing Funeral Home in Brooksville, FL at 7254 Highpoint Blvd on Monday October 5th at 11am with funeral services to be held at 12pm.

Family viewing will be at 10am.

She was born on November 5th 1938 in New York City, NY to Edward and Mildred Jacobs. Barbara spent most of her early life in New York until moving to Paterson, NJ with family. She devoted much of her time to raising 6 kids and enjoying family life. She was one of the matriarchs in our family and was loved and adored by all her family and friends. She had an infectious smile, was always a joy to be around and was the life of the party.

In 1989 she decided it was time to leave New Jersey for sunny beaches of Florida. While in Florida she enjoyed spending time with family as well as working. She worked at Bayonet Point hospital in Hudson, FL as a surgical tech for 20 years before retiring. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends who love her dearly.

Barbara is survived by a very large family including her sister, Audrey Griffin; children, Linda Johnson, Pamela Johnson, Tracy Johnson, David Burgess and Calvin Johnson; 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins scattered all over the US.  

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40+ years Colie Crummie Jr and her son Allen Johnson
