Burton H. Harres, Jr., 72 years old, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Oak Hill Hospital.
Burton was born June 29, 1952 in Columbia, IL. He dedicated his career to higher education, most recently as Vice President of Instruction at Pasco-Hernando State College.
During his retirement, Burt enjoyed competing in golf tournaments, feeding the homeless, and growing spiritually. He was a loving and caring man who always was willing to help others.
Burt was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; his sons, Michael R. Harres and David P. Harres; his stepchildren, Anthony M. Pazanese and Kathryn M. Pazanese; and his four grandchildren, Emerson, Colton, Luke, and Bennett.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. A rosary will be prayed preceding the Mass at 10:30 a.m. A private family burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Tunnel 2 Towers.
