Carolyn Marie Gallo of Hudson, FL passed away suddenly on Monday, November 9th 2020 due to complications from surgery. A visitation and Catholic mass will be held at a later date.
Carolyn was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on April, 25th 1938 to Richard and Alida (DeMars) Field. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science of Business degree from the University of Minnesota and became a systems analyst, first at the Federal Reserve Bank, and then General Mills.
She met her loving husband, Mike, on a Catholic Alumni Club trip to Aspen, Colorado. They married on April 7, 1973 and settled in New Jersey. Soon after, she left the workforce to raise her two daughters, Susan and Linda. Carolyn started working again when her daughters were in high school and worked for IBM and then Lucent Technologies. She was always involved in her daughters activities and became a fan of the Fighting Irish when they both went to the University of Notre Dame.
Carolyn and Mike moved to Florida for their retirement and enjoyed each of their last 21 years together at Heritage Pines. Carolyn was active in the golf community, enjoyed her bridge group, and spent time playing the piano, baking, and watching Notre Dame Football at home. She and Mike enjoyed traveling to visit their children and grandchildren and also took several river cruises.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Mike of 47 years, daughters Susan (Nick) Honkamp and Linda (Chris) Elkins, and seven grandchildren: Annie, Andrew, Mary, Claire, Ben, John, and Samantha. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard.
