Clorinda V. Franklin

Clorinda Franklin, a proud lifelong Floridian whose feisty spirit, boundless love, and tireless work ethic touched generations, went to be with the lord on the morning of June 12, 2026. She was 93 years old.

Born on December 3, 1932, in Plant City, Florida, Clorinda was the cherished daughter of the late Arnold Vitelli and Josephine Guerino. She grew up in Plant City, graduating from Plant City High School where she was the captain of her basketball team before embarking on a remarkable 45-year career with the American Can Company. Her dedication and sharp wit made her a beloved fixture there until her well-earned retirement in 1989 and spending her golden years living on the water in Aripeka, Florida right in the middle of all her children and grandchildren.

Clorinda was a woman of fierce devotion, most notably to her beloved husband, Ernest Franklin, to whom she was a deeply dedicated wife. Together, they built a foundation of love that extended through generations. She was an incredibly loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose heart was always open. Known for being wonderfully feisty yet profoundly kind, she always kept her family laughing and knew exactly how to keep everyone in line with a smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her siblings, Angelo Vitelli, Beatrice Sutorus, and Arnold Vitelli.

Her vibrant legacy lives on through her loving family. She is survived by her dear sister, Carmen Sutorous, and her two children, Daughter Patricia Roebuck (Brian Roebuck) and son Bruce Franklin.

Carrying on her love and independent spirit are her grandchildren Ben Franklin, Amy Franklin, Breeze Benda (Kyle Benda), Stormy Scanlon (Kristopher Scanlon), Dawn Hopper (Richie Hopper) Misty Posey (Dante Bondanza)

She also leaves behind her nine adored great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her later years: Nicholas, Nolan, Chloe, Alley, Harper, Clifton, RJ, Jack, and Renzo as well as many loved nieces and nephews.

Clorinda’s sharp mind, kind heart, and unforgettable spark will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
