Donald Roland Cyr, 85, of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away on March 26, 2025. Born on September 6, 1939, in Waterville, Maine, Don lived a life defined by dedication, service, and love for family and community.

Don proudly served his country for 21 years in the U.S. Army, including two tours in Vietnam. He retired as a Sergeant First Class, having worked as an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor and Senior Instructor. After his military service, Don continued his commitment to serving others, working as a Maintenance Supervisor at Togus VA Hospital in Augusta, Maine, where he retired after 20 years of federal service.

On November 5, 1960, Don married the love of his life, Marjorie (Jean) Spearin, and together they raised their son, David Donald Cyr, born on August 6, 1968. After Jean’s passing in 1996, Don found love again with Mary Ellen Sorenson, whom he married on February 14, 1999. Mary Ellen predeceased Don on April 5, 2020.

Don was a man of many talents and joys. He found happiness in camping, woodworking, boating, and fishing (always with a good cigar) and he shared these passions with those closest to him. Known for his kindness, dedication, and strength, Don touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

He was predeceased by his first wife, M. Jean Cyr; his second wife, Mary Ellen Cyr; his two younger brothers, Robert J. Cyr Sr. and John (Johnny) Cyr; and leaves behind his loving son, Major David Donald Cyr, US Army (Retired), of Florida, and his nephew, Robert J. Cyr Jr., also of Florida.

Don’s legacy of service, love, and warmth will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
