Edgar W. Sawyer III, age 78, passed away on April 11, 2026. Born in Camden, New Jersey, on February 19, 1948, Edgar lived a life defined by service, faith, and family.

A Life of Service

Edgar proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. Following his military service and a successful career, he retired in 2003. In 2004, he and his wife moved from New Jersey, to Florida to enjoy his retirement years.

Faith and Community

Upon moving to Florida, Edgar became an exceptionally active member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. His devotion to the church was evident through his many roles and honors, including:

4th Degree Knight: A dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus.

Council Member: Serving on both the Council of St. Frances Cabrini and the Parish Council.

Parish Photographer: Capturing the life and spirit of his church community through his lens.

His selfless contributions were recognized with the Mother Cabrini Award in 2012 and the prestigious Diocese St. Jude Medal Award in 2015.

Family and Legacy

Edgar is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Susanne Sawyer; his son, Michael; and his two sisters, Dottie and Carol. He will be remembered by those who knew him as a man of great integrity and a familiar, friendly face at parish events.
