Eugene Edinger, 63 of Weeki Wachee, Florida passed away in his home on November 29, 2021. He was born in Easton, PA to Gilbert Edinger and Alice (Howey) Gass.

Eugene graduated from Easton Area High School in 1976 and joined the United States Marine Corps serving for 12 years, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. After being discharged, he returned to PA where he served numerous years in the Army National Guard of PA while working as a mechanic at numerous mills in the area. He also worked at Waste Management where he was awarded “Volunteer of the Year” and eventually retired from Mack Trucks in Macungie, PA.

Eugene was a Life Member at the Veterans of Foreign Wars serving as a Past Commander at Bangor Post 739 and Life Member of the Military Order of the Cootie serving both local and Grand positions. He was also a member at the American Legion in Roseto, PA, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Weeki Wachee, FL.

Eugene is survived by his Aunt Lillian (Howey) Howell of Weeki Wachee, FL, brother Marlyn Edinger and his wife Mary of Havelock, NC, sister Virginia (Gass) Saffle and her husband Tim of O’Fallon, MO, brother George Gass and his wife Penny of Stroudsburg, PA, and Cousin Lottie (Howell) Jones and her husband David of Weeki Wachee, FL with whom he resided. He is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Alice, his stepfather Larry Gass and siblings, Gilbert Edinger, William Edinger and Jeff Gass.

Graveside services will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on Friday, December 10th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his family c/o Lottie Jones, 8348 Dalewood Drive, Weeki Wachee, FL 34613.
