Héctor Manuel Álvarez Alemán

Héctor Manuel Álvarez Alemán, 82 years old, passed away on July 12, 2020 due to complications of cancer.  He was born on March 8, 1938 in Utuado, Puerto Rico to his parents Hilda Alemán and Augusto Álvarez. He is survived by his wife, Elsa Bermúdez, whom he married on May 1, 1963.  Now we all know her as Elsa Álvarez. They recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.

He is survived by his children, Brenda Armenteros and her husband Joel; Carlos Álvarez and his wife Carmen Sofía; Laura Melissa Pantoja and her husband Yoswar Alexander. His grandchildren also survive him.  Stephe Serrano, Samir Domínguez and his wife Stephanie; Michelle Gotera and her husband Nelson, Rebecca Álvarez and Raquel Álvarez. He is also survived by his great-granddaughter Ayla Domínguez.

Héctor was baptized as a Jehovah Witness in 1985.  He served as a ministerial assistant until his health no longer allowed it.  As everyone knows, he suffered from bipolar disorder, but that did not stop him from giving his best to Jehovah.  Some of the exemplary qualities that highlighted Héctor were being a loving dad; exemplary provider; a man of his word; always hospitable, and ready to help others. Héctor was able to make friends instantly, very spontaneous, friendly and always ready to laugh and make people laugh. As a couple, Héctor and Elsa could not miss a party.  They were ideal partners when dancing, elegant and romantic. Despite his illness, Héctor tried hard to reflect qualities such as Love, Kindness, and Loyalty.  Among his hobbies were gardening, dancing, playing basketball, and of course, playing the Güiro.

Héctor, we are going to miss you.  See you soon dear husband, friend, brother, dad, and grandfather.
