Helen F Snoha

Helen F. Snoha (nee Murphy), 89, a resident of Spring Hill, FL passed away Tuesday August 20, 2024, at her home.

She was born on November 18, 1934, in Tamaqua, PA, a daughter of the late Patrick and Anna Murphy (Kennedy). Helen was raised in Tamaqua, PA, by her two older sisters, May and Anna, as well as her Aunt Florence, and was a graduate of St. Jerome’s High School with the class of 1952.  

Following her graduation, Helen moved to Rahway, New Jersey and married her high school sweetheart Mike (Dixie) on September 26,1953. The couple had resided in Parlin, NJ and Linden, NJ as they raised their family. Helen worked for General Motors until her retirement in 1995. Since 1997, after having their new home built, Helen and Dixie have resided in Spring Hill, FL.

Locally, Helen was an active member of St. Francis Cabrini Church, and was involved in many church groups. Over the years, Helen has served as President of the CCW, Eucharistic Minister and Scheduler, Coordinator of First Friday Breakfast, as well as being involved in the  Charismatic Prayer Group, Mantle of Mary, the Sisters of Charity, Feeding the Homeless, and a volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul. She was also an active member of the RICA group, and fondly remembered for helping many men and women convert to Catholicism. Furthermore, Helen loved helping people in the community, and would never hesitate to put out her hand, and introduce herself to all the new church practitioners to help them feel welcomed.  In her younger years, she enjoyed being being a Girl Scout leader at her daughters’ school, going on family vacations and volunteering with Hospice. Preceding her in death were her parents; and her three sisters Mary Elizabeth (May), Anna Katherine (Kai), and Patricia.

Surviving are: Her husband Michael (Dixie) Shoha of Spring Hill, FL. Her children: Ann Marie (Jeff) Dinocento of Weeki Wachee, FL, Michelle Miranda of  Spring Hill FL, Theresa (Scott) Rohrbach of Sunrise, FL and Katherine (Howie) Shaine of Sunrise, FL. Her Grandchildren: Bridget (Adam), Jeffrey (Debbie), Brianna, Katie (Roger), Sarah, Michael, Shannon (Jason), Sheena (Rob), Nicholas (Hayley), Tyler, Stephanie (Latarus), Jonathan (Krystal), and Michael, her 25 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
