Helen Turnvall Obituary

Helen Marie Turnvall

“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine…”

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Helen Marie Turnvall . Though our hearts are broken by her loss, we find comfort knowing she is finally at peace — dancing again in Heaven to “Footloose,” “Brown Eyed Girl,” “I Swear,” and all the songs she loved most.

Known lovingly as “the brown eyed girl,” Helen was the heart of her family. She was strong, selfless, loving, and fiercely devoted to the people she cared about. Even in her hardest moments, she continued putting others before herself, always wanting to make sure everyone else was okay before worrying about her own pain.

She was the kind of woman who made people feel safe, loved, and cared for. Her strength carried her family through countless moments, and her love will continue to guide them even now.

To those closest to her, she was more than just a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, or friend — she was home. She loved deeply, laughed loudly, fought courageously, and held onto the people she loved with everything she had. Her family remained by her side until the very end, surrounding her with endless love.

She leaves behind her loving husband, George Turnvall; her three daughters, Kimberly, Michelle, and Amythyst; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with countless family members and friends whose lives were forever touched by her love and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother Roxie; her mother, Hazel E. Pipkins; her father, Archie L. Pipkins; her brother, Jerry L. Pipkins; and her beloved dogs, Corkey and Brandi, who are surely dancing beside her once more.

Though she may no longer walk beside us, her songs, laughter, strength, and love will echo through our lives forever. Every cardinal in the sky, every familiar melody, every ray of sunshine, and every note of “I Swear” will remind us of her.

A Celebration of her life will be held May 15, 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Downing Funeral Home,, Spring Hill, FL with Deacon Mike Miller, officiating;.
