Irene B. Bridgeman

August 24, 1943 ~ May 21, 2022 (age 78)

Irene “Renee” Barbara Ostfeld Bridgeman was born on August 24th, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois. She was diagnosed with colon cancer and fought hard to the end with grace and tenacity. After this lengthy, arduous battle, Renee succumbed to her illness on May 21st, 2022, in Brooksville, Florida. Renee is preceded in death by parents Norman and Lillian Ostfeld, brother George F. Ostfeld, and granddaughter Amelia Ann Deere. She is survived by husband Ronald F. Bridgeman, daughter Deana (Bridgeman) Deere (husband Chance Deere, children Owen and Ella Deere), son RJ Bridgeman, (wife Susanna Bridgeman, children Tyler and Isabel Bridgeman), son Bryan Bridgeman (wife Heaven Bridgeman, children Donovan, Lilith, and Leah Bridgeman), and sister Tanya Ostfeld Hansen. Renee and Ron were married on August 24th, 1964 and enjoyed 57 loving years together.  Renee earned her Library Associates degree at Harper College and went on to work in the library at Fairview Elementary School in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, where she helped educate countless children and shared her love of reading. After retiring to Florida, Renee proudly became a First Responder, continuing to serve her community. Renee adored her children and grandchildren; family was everything to her. Fun-loving, strong, positive; Renee will be missed the most by those she loved the hardest. Rest in peace, Mom.
