James-Jacob Dilworth Hammond January 2nd, 1981 to April 10th, 2025

Jake was a graduate of Las Cruces High School, Las Cruces, New Mexico. Jake moved from New Mexico to Clearwater, Florida at the age of 18 and spent most of his adult life there. He was a master welder and metal fabricator for 25 years. Jake was artistic, creative and inventive. He loved fishing and the sports teams of Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers, Lightning and Rays. Jake was a huge history buff and could recite great details about the most trivial war battles, no matter the era. His love for guitar riffs and drum solos led him to take up both instruments, and no one loved the game of Yahtzee more than Jake.

Jake is survived by his loving daughter Leena Rose Hammond, Clearwater, FL.-his mother Barbara Hammond, Hendersonville, N.C.- his father Richard D. Hammond (and his spouse Evelyn Hammond), Edgewater, FL. and his sister Elizabeth Hammond-Barnett, Hendersonville, N.C. He is also survived by several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and his former wife Rebecca Black. 

Jake's quick wit, intelligence, compassion, loyalty and charm will be profoundly missed.
