It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce Jennings (JR) Maxey, aged 62, sudden passing on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Jennings was born on February 25, 1962, in Seneca, South Carolina to James Maxey and Jenine Gore. After graduating high school he enlisted in the Army. His 15 year career stationed him all over the world, and even into conflict, during Operation Desert Storm. While stationed in Germany, he met and married Erlinda Dagandara. There they started a family, welcoming Lynn, born in 1983, followed by Kaye in 1989. Upon retiring from the army and moving his family to Florida, he became a Deputy Sheriff in Orange County. He served and protected for an additional 15 years, before officially retiring at the early age of 50. He spent his well earned early retirement traveling and seeing the world, and found love again when he met his wife of 10 years, Ella, and always prioritized time spent with his family. He had a big smile, and an even bigger laugh that he passed onto his daughters. He was a wise, calculated, thoughtful, loving and amazing father, grandfather and husband. Jennings left this world too soon, and has left his entire family shocked and heartbroken. We are honored to have had such a man in our lives. JR is survived by his two daughters Lynn Green and Kaye Williams, granddaughters Jade and Sage Green, his wife Ella Maxey and their beloved dogs Simba and Getter, his brother David Maxey, sister Suzanne Butterfuss, his stepsister Holly Bell and stepmother Bertha Maxey. Rest peacefully Dad, we miss you.
