John Oliveira Obituary

⚓ END OF WATCH

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved John Joseph Oliveria, affectionately known as Capton John, who served his last watch on November 15th at the age of 66. He was the cherished husband of Amanda Lupton and a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. John passed away at his vacation home in Hernando Beach, Florida.

John made his home in Pilot Point, Texas, on his 10-acre Alpaca Ranch, enjoying country living with his family.

Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, he was the son of Alice DaSilva Oliveira and Francisco Oliveira. John developed an early passion for hard work and earning. At 16, he relocated to Florida with his mother and younger brother, Mike, settling first in Clearwater before later making homes in Seminole and Madeira Beach.

John launched his career in the cable industry, eventually building his company, Southern Communications Construction, Inc., where he established a strong reputation for underground and aerial projects throughout the Tampa-to-Miami corridor for 25 years. Widely recognized in the communications field nationwide. John relocated and launched his next venture in Louisiana and Texas, where he founded and served as CEO of Capstone Alliance, Inc. for the last 12 years.

John was known for his years of mentoring his family in the communications construction industry. He established a powerful legacy that his family is committed to carrying forward, ensuring his reputation and standards will continue to guide the business as they build upon his foundation for upcoming generations of the industry.

His retirement goal was to return to Florida to be near his daughter and grandchildren and the coastal life he cherished. John held a master’s captain's license and looked forward to doing more with this achievement. His family and friends treasured his dedication and trademark dry sense of humor.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Amanda Lupton, of Pilot Point, Texas, and their son, Landon.
