John H. Mace (Jack) was born on July 24, 1937 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of three siblings. When he turned 18 years old, tired of small-town life, he joined the United States Navy. Serving four years at the end of the Korean War the experience would stay with him for the rest of his life. After his service he moved to New Jersey where he met Carold Zega of Bloomfield, N.J. They married in 1961 and moved to Hackettstown N.J. in 1965. They had their first and only child David in w1972. Jack worked at Hoffman LaRoche as a chemical operator for 30 years before retiring in 1996. After retiring he continued his hobbies of working on his house, building a fishpond in the back yard, traveling and going to Antique Car shows with the car clubs he belonged to. After his wife’s passing in 2000 he moved to Spring Hill, Florida in 2001, where he bought and sold properties with his new best friend Charlie Zino. In 2004 he met Margaret Cunno (Maggie) and they lived together till her death in 2014. Jack was also an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 34 years and passed away sober. He leaves behind family, friends and a legacy of memories and stories that will be told for years to come Words cannot express how loved and liked he was. He will be missed by many.
