Jose Ildefonso Jr Obituary

José Amalio Ildefonso, Jr, 70, of Weeki Wachee, FL passed away in his home on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. He was born of JoséAmalio Ildefonso and Solana Torresin Manhatten, New York on February 19, 1951. He grew up in New York, where he joined the Navy as a young man, and later met his bride, Lorraine Pheiffer.  He served a total of eight months and twelve days of his four year term in the Navy.  He received the National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged. After his discharge from the Navy, Joe and Lorraine were married on February 2, 1974. They had 2 children, Melinda and Dawn, before eventually moving down, and settling in Florida in 1986, where they had their 3rd child, and only son, Joseph.  José (known as Joe) worked hard to support his family in various factory positions before opening his own painting business called Joe's Painting, which he maintained until his retirement. Those who knew Joe knew him as being incredibly hard working and generous.  He worked hard to always provide his family and children with whatever they needed, and he never complained.  Joe enjoyed playing racquet ball for many years and attended church at Florida Lighthouse Tabernacle in Weeki Wachee.  He enjoyed dancing and going out, and was usually the life of the party.  Joe loved God, loved people, and loved life.  He also had a men's group that he had breakfast with every week.  He was intelligent, funny, witty, could fix just about anything, and would always serve in any way that he could.  He gave of himself and offered whatever he had to those who needed it.  Joe was preceeded in death by his wife, Lorraine, on September 30, 2018.  He is survived by his 3 children, Melinda Ildefonso-McMunn (William), Dawn Dokoupil (Donovan), and Joseph Ildefonso (Logan), and 8 grandchildren, Alexandra, Ean, Trinity, Preston, Lincoln, Timothy, Gwendolyn, and Aryeh.  Joe was loved by all who knew him, and is missed immensely by all who loved him.
