Joseph DeSimone, age 92, passed away May 10th with his family by his side.
Born, with a twin sister, in New Rochelle, New York, He was raised in the Bronx. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II, in the Electrical Division, aboard the Battleship U.S.S. Missouri. He resided most of his adult life in Bergenfield, New Jersey, where he raised his family and grow his sunflowers. He was employed as a telephone electrician by the New York Bell Telephone Company and by the Local #3, IBEW.
He retired with his wife, Joan, to Spring Hill, Florida in 1997, where he continued to follow the Yankees and enjoyed tennis and golf at Timber Pines.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan, daughter, Nancy, Cathleen, Joni, Doreen, and Jennifer, and his grandchildren, Christopher, Jacqueline, Nicole, and Gabriella. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
He will be interred at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
Mass will be at St. Francis Cabrini in Spring Hill.
