Kaylyn Sweet Obituary

Kaylyn Ruth Sweet, 25, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

Kaylyn was born on August 3, 2000, in Dunedin, Florida, to Todd Eugene Sweet and Stephanie Elizabeth (Harmening) Sweet.

In 2009, Kaylyn moved with her family to Denver, Colorado. After graduating from high school, she pursued her lifelong dream of working with animals. Kaylyn earned an associate degree from the Community College of Denver (CCD) and began her career as a veterinary technician. She thrived in her work, caring not only for domestic animals but also for exotic and large breeds. From a young age, Kaylyn had a deep love for horses. She volunteered at a stable, where she learned to ride and further nurtured her passion. In 2023, Kaylyn moved back to Florida to pursue a specialization in equine medicine. Her strong work ethic and unwavering dedication to animal health shone brightly in everything she did.

Outside of work, Kaylyn brought laughter to those around her. She had a quick wit and a gift for connecting with others through humor. She held strong beliefs and stood firmly for what—and who—she believed in. Kaylyn loved fiercely and was a natural protector of those in her circle; you could always count on her to have your back. She was ambitious and driven, always striving to reach her goals. Kaylyn was also deeply intuitive, knowing just when to offer a hug, ask about your day, or make you smile after a difficult one.

Family was a priority for Kaylyn. She made intentional efforts to stay connected with loved ones both in Florida and Colorado. In her free time, she enjoyed horseback riding, bowling, golfing, karaoke, and spending time with her family, especially at home with her boyfriend and their two beloved fur babies.

Kaylyn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is lovingly survived by her father, Todd Sweet; her mother, Stephanie Sweet; her sister, Sage Sweet-Bloch (Arlin); her brother, Logan Sweet; her grandfather, Steve Harmening (Enieda); her grandmother, Gina Bumbalough; her great-grandmother, Pauline Plott; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of Kaylyn’s life will be held in the summer of 2026 for family and friends
