Mark J. Rodman, 99, a World War II veteran, went on his final Sentimental Journey just 23 days after his bride, Mary, of 77 years passed. He was born February 17, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois. He is survived by his sister Therese, his daughters Mary Lee (James), Celeste (Nick), Renee (Roger), and Alicia (Denham), his grandchildren, Alane, Michelle, Jay, Jason, Nicole, Colette, Mark, Regan, Courtney, and Gretchen, and his great grandchildren, Lauren, Olivia, Max, Madi, Gavyn, Sophie, Elle, Finley, and Isaac.
Mark always had a story to tell, some were embellished “a little” and reflected his unique sense of humor. He loved to “make stuff up” which we so enjoyed and adored about him. We will miss his wisdom and advice he gained throughout his life experiences. He was a strong, charismatic man who continued to look at life through youthful eyes. He exemplified a life which we can only hope to live up to. Our hands may be empty without him, but our hearts are filled with our love for him.
