Mary G. Pearce, 74, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 28, 2023. Born in Philadelphia on December 13, 1948, she was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ida Atchison. She was one of 5 siblings: Margaret Weiner, Rosemarie Boyle, Gerard Atchison (deceased), and Donna Marie Haeberle. Mary often spoke fondly of her father, who worked for the Philadelphia Transit Authority and, in his early days, was a boxer.
Mary and her family moved to Florida in 2001 and settled in Spring Hill. She enjoyed life there. She especially liked spending time on the lanai while having morning coffee and watching nature. She would sit and watch the small wildlife and visits from various birds as they moved through the property; she took great joy in being a witness to their daily life. Two dogs, Bailey and Molly, enriched her life. Mary was an excellent cook and enjoyed hosting family dinners during the holidays. She enjoyed listening to music and her favorites were Neil Diamond, but especially Frank Sinatra.
Mary worked in Philadelphia as a manager for a weekly store publication and transferred those skills to starting a coupon book, Coupon Connection, that she and her husband successfully managed for 15 years.
After moving to Florida, Mary enjoyed many trips to Key West and always recommended it as a must-see travel destination.
Mary was a great neighbor, often lending a helping hand. Mary showed concern for her elderly neighbors, always asking if they needed anything, even doing grocery shopping for them.
Mary will be dearly missed by William (Pete), her husband of 55 years. They were inseparable and she would often mention what a good life they had together. They had two daughters, two grandchildren, and one great grandson. She will also be deeply missed by many family members and dear friends.
