Mary Kay passed away peacefully in her home on May 24, 2021. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 20, 1925. She was educated at Carlow University, Pittsburgh, PA receiving a B.S. degree in Home Economics, minoring in Education & Interior Design. She married James H. Wolfston in June, 1948. She was married for 66 years. She gave birth to five wonderful children, three of whom survive her today. She lost a beautiful 12 year old daughter in 1971, Pamela Alice, and another daughter, Jenifer O. Turner, from Kettering, Ohio. Surviving are three children: Louise O. McKinney, Hudson, FL, James H. Jr., Portland, Oregon, and Bridget O. Stone, Spring Hill, FL. Also she is survived by her four grandchildren, Christina A. Pease, New Port Richey, FL, Luke John McKinney, Hudson, FL, Anna Wolfston and Garrett Wolfston, Portland, Oregon. She also has surviving two great-grandchildren, Lydia Pease & Liam Pease, New Port Richey, and FL. She was preceded in death by her brother, George Rudolph, and by her two sisters, Patti Stukel, St. Louis, Missouri, and Florence Gregg, Philomath, Oregon.
After Mary Kay raised her children, she taught Home Economics and English at Woodsdale Junior High in Wheeling, West Virginia. She gave up teaching after the death of her daughter, Pamela. Years later, she became an Interior Designer and was on staff at Ethan Allen in Clearwater, FL for several years. When she & her husband moved to Punta Gorda, FL in 1995 she opened her own Interior Design Studio, Lasting Impressions. Prior to her business career she was very active in Civic & Charitable Organizations. She served on the Board of the Charter Guild of Wheeling College, and organized the first signature Ball to benefit the The Wheeling Hospital. She belonged to many organizations of which she served as President. She was an active member of P.E.O. Chapter, G.S. in Spring Hill, FL. Mary Kay loved golfing and bridge. She was a Eucharistic Minister and Sacristan at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 9:00 A.M. Internment Service will be at 11 A.M. the same day at Florida VA National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
