Nancy G. Dyson

Was born January 24th 1947 and passed away due to a long term health illness peacefully on February 9th 2023 with family by her bedside.  Nancy was a life time resident born in Brooksville, Florida to Kenneth and Mildred Garman.  She was the oldest of four children the only girl with three brothers.  Nancy graduated from Hernando High where she later met her future husband Larry.  They got married on July 8th 1966.  They had two daughters Melanie born in 1967 and Stefanie born in 1977. Nancy went to nursing school where she became an LPN in the early 70’s. She then went back to college to get her RN. She went to school while working full time, taking care of her family, staying on the Dean’s list and was President of her graduating class. She graduated in 1993 with her RN.  Nancy was a nurse for over 25+ years.  She loved taking care of people and she was so good to her patients.  She was an excellent nurse that was respected by so many people including the doctors she retired in 1998 due to health reasons.   Nancy was the class Secretary and also Secretary of the class reunions, President of Lykes Memorial Hospital reunions and she was also one of the founders of APACK.  After retiring Nancy loved spending time with her family and friends. She did a lot of traveling through the years with her husband and family.  She traveled to 48 states and some foreign countries. She spent a lot of time with her grandchildren and great grandchild.  She was an amazing wife, mom, sister, grandma, great grandma which she was called (GG) and friend.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Mildred and her brother Dale.  Nancy is survived by her husband of 56 years Larry, her daughter Melanie Dyson and the significant other Danny, her daughter Stefanie Goff and husband Joey Goff, Brother Alan Garman and his wife Beth. Brother Darryl Garman and his wife Kelly and sister-in-law Susan Garman, sister-in-law, Marjorie Dyson of Indiana.  Her Grandchildren Brittany Gidley, Brandon Gidley, Brooke Gidley, Caitlyn Dyson, Elizabeth Goff and AJ Goff.  One great-grandchild Faith Gidley.  Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Nancy will be truly missed by her family and friends.   

We would like to thank all special people that took care of our beloved Nancy.  To Oak Hill Hospital, Bravera health Brooksville, Brooksville Health Care Rehab and HPH Hospice. In lieu of flowers we recommend your choice of charities to give to.  Also we are going to be having a tree planted in the yard with a nice memorial stone if you want to give towards that. 

There will be a Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.
