Nicholas James Carreira, 88, of Hudson Florida, born in Plymouth Massachusetts, loving father, grandfather, and husband, died on Holy Saturday, April 19th, with his beautiful wife Gayle, of 52 years by his side.
Nicholas is the son of the late Annie Carreira (Ruggiero) and the late Mariano Carreira of Plymouth Massachusetts. He is survived by his wife Gayle Carreira (Pina), his 4 children Nicholas J. (Barbara) Carreira Jr, Michele (Jimmy) Williams, Kimberly Ann Carreira, and Anthony Mariano Carreira. He was predeceased by his brother James (Loretta) Carreira and Joseph (Joan) Carreira and is survived by his brothers Louis (Kathy)Carreira and Melvin (Debbie) Carreira. He has 7 grandchildren, Nicole, Shannon, Joelle, Kevin, Nicholas, Marcus, and Joshua, and 8 great grandchildren.
Nicholas served in the US Navy at the age of 18. He played the saxophone at Berkeley and had a passion for driving trucks which he did his whole life, driving until the age of 82. He knew every route in every state. He always had an atlas on hand to assist family with their travels to avoid tolls.
Nicholas' smile was contagious. He loved to make people laugh with his very own made-up language that his family will cherish. He brought humor and comfort to every occasion.
Everyone that knew Nicholas can attest to his love for his heavenly Father, Jesus Christ. He would speak boldly, with certainty about his King. His family has peace knowing where Nicholas is now, resting in peace in the Kingdom of heaven.
