Patricia Ann Carpenter
Patricia Ann Carpenter, born April 26, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, at Aviata at Spring Hill Nursing Home.
Patricia married Woodson “Woody” Carpenter on June 9, 1961, at the Army Chapel at Fort Benning, GA. The two first met as young teenagers in Okinawa, Japan, beginning a lifelong partnership that spanned 56 years until Woody’s passing in February 2017.
At the age of 19, Patricia welcomed her son, Jeffrey Scott Carpenter, who preceded her in death on August 24, 2019. On March 28, 1967, she gave birth to her daughter, Cathleen Elizabeth, who remained by her side and provided comfort, love, and support throughout her later years and final days.
As the wife of a Department of the Army civilian, Patricia experienced a life of travel and cultural richness, living in Okinawa, California, West Germany, and Italy before eventually settling in Florida.
While residing in West Central Florida, Patricia became affiliated with several non-denominational Christian communities, including the Church of God and the Assemblies of God, reflecting her faith and connection to her community.
Patricia will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her resilience through life’s many transitions, and the quiet strength she demonstrated in her later years.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathleen Elizabeth Butler, and her sisters, Janice, Lisa and Kim, and is reunited in rest with her husband, Woodson Carpenter, and her son, Jeffrey Scott Carpenter.
