Paula Lockhart Obituary

Paula Kay Lockhart, 68, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021. She was born in Welch, WV. and was the daughter of William Robert and Vada Muncy Lockhart of Princeton, WV. In addition to her parents, Paula was predeceased in death by her older brother, William Daniel Lockhart and nephew Timothy Lockhart.

Left to cherish her memory are her spouse Kerry McKenna, her brother Richard D. Lockhart (Maggie Bryant) of Princeton, WV and her sister Pamela L. Anderson (Larry) of Maidens, VA.

Additionally she leaves: Nephews and Nieces Stephen Todd Anderson (Wes), Austin Lockhart, Matthew Massoni, Eric Massoni (Michelle), Nicholas Massoni, Ryan Sweeney, Austin Hermance, Daniel Hermance, Christian McKenna, Mary Anderson Camp (Tim), Stephanie Lockhart, Ann Steenhoek-Willingham, Megan Caccese (Anthony), Kennedy McKenna, Lyndsay Mckenna; Great Nephews and Great Nieces Micah Lockhart, Elijah C Crouch, William Davis Clay-Anderson, Noah James Clay- Anderson, Jack Daniel Massoni, Christopher Thomas Mckenna, Laura Annabella Camp, Brandi Jo’Leigh, Kacey McKenna; Sister-in-laws Coleen McKenna Massoni (Danny), Erin McKenna, Kathleen McKenna; Brother-in-law Danny McKenna; Mother and Father-in-law Eileen and Daniel McKenna.

Also surviving is her life-long friend Virginia “Sissy” Spadaro and her Aunt Carol Hogan (Ken) and a host of other close friends and extended family who loved her dearly.

Paula graduated from Princeton High School in Princeton, WV (1971). She then went on to receive her BA degree at Concord College, WV (1975).  Paula continued to further her education by earning an MA Degree from the State University at Albany in 1981. She then worked for thirty years in a variety of New York State agencies and finally retired from the NYS Department of Criminal Justice Services.

Paula moved to Spring Hill, Florida after her retirement in 2014.   She received her Florida State Real Estate License in 2018 and truly enjoyed helping people navigate through the stressful time of buying and selling homes. She also felt very fortunate for she met some wonderful people who became friends during this time.

Paula loved life and was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.  She had a heart of gold and was the sweetest, most thoughtful, kind and caring person you would ever meet.  Paula loved to golf and travel and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and was always positive in her approach to life.  Paula was an extremely bright and intelligent woman who would help anyone in need.  Her family and friends will miss her in their lives and know that she’ll be watching and caring for them every day. Heaven has gained another beautiful angel.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on November 6th, 2021 at Paula and Kerry’s home.  Given the current COVID resurgence, please know that the family understands completely if you cannot be present.
