Pearle Ann Erdos Fairchild Saalborn
07/13/1937 - 11/08/2023
Pearle Ann Erdos Fairchild Saalborn passed away, peacefully, with her husband and two sons by her side on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023, at 4:27 pm after a brief hospitalization in Brooksville Florida. Pearle was born in Danbury, Ct to proud parents, Frank Erdos and Rose Donato Erdos on July 13th, 1937. Growing up in Danbury with her siblings and parents, she dedicated much of her youth to caring for her family, whether it be working alongside her mother in various local jobs or helping raise her younger brother, Frank, who had lost his sight at a young age. Pearle was a young student of Danbury schools but a valedictorian of life experience. She was wed to John T Fairchild in 1956, which blessed her with two sons, John & James, and a deep connection to her community in New Fairfield, Ct, where she resided for nearly 40 years. While in New Fairfield, Pearle was devotedly involved in The New Fairfield Congregational Church, the Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary as well as a head dispatcher for the fire department and emergency services of New Fairfield, during a time when emergency calls would ring on a phone in the hallway of her own home (pre-911 era). When 911 services became the new standard, she began her employment at New Milford/Housatonic Cable Vision, where she worked as a service coordinator for a multitude of years. She was happily married to her current husband, Otto Saalborn, in 1993 and moved to Brooksville Florida to retire in the sunshine. Her involvement in her church and community, there, was equally as fulfilling and she was loved by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered for her generous heart, amazing hugs and warm smile as well as her never ending dedication to helping friends, family, and anyone in need. She truly touched the most with her beautiful and angelic singing voice, performing for a variety of functions, private and public, whether solo or with a group. Pearle is preceded by her parents, her sisters Mary and Kathy, and her brother Frank. Pearle is survived by her older sister Irene, children John (Bindu) and James (Amy), grandchildren Matthew and Andrew, as well as her husband Otto, his children Scott (Sandy) Ruthann (Robert) and Eric and grandchildren Samantha, Luke, Alexander, Emma, Amelia, Georgia and Finnegan and a plethora of nieces and nephews. A Celebration Of Life is planned for Saturday November 18th at Spring Hill United Church Of Christ, 4244 Mariner Blvd, Spring Hill Florida at Noon. A second Celebration Of Life and graveside service, in her former hometown of New Fairfield Ct, will be planned for the spring of 2024 and will be announced as details are finalized. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the SHUCC would be greatly appreciated and can be found at shucc.org under the “about us/giving/stewardship” tab. She will be truly missed.
