Peter Randall Murdock, 75, passed away on Wednesday, September 28th at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Florida with his daughters in his heart and his long-time companion, Deborah Magill, by his side.
Peter was born in Derby, CT on July 14, 1947, but his home was in Brooksville, Florida. He was adopted and raised by George & Florence Murdock. He graduated from Maloney High School in Meriden in 1965 and then enlisted in the Navy. He served our country in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from the Naval Reserves in 1971 after receiving many service medals.
He leaves behind his oldest brother, James Randall (wife Ann) and their daughter Kimberly Lawwell of Tennessee; an Aunt Fern Aubrey of Kentucky; daughter Jennifer Markoja (husband Steve) and granddaughters Addison & Kaylee of Meriden, CT; daughter Melissa Murdock of Meriden, CT; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Anyone who met Peter, loved him. His love for life and sense of humor touched the lives of every doctor and nurse who cared for him. He enjoyed the simple things and created memories to last a lifetime with Deborah and his daughters. His greatest joys were his grandchildren, Addison & Kaylee. They were a gift to him, and he lit up every time he spoke to them.
Peter will be put to rest at the State Veteran's Cemetery in Middletown, CT at a later date with military honors. Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Veteran's Association as well as Oak Hill Hospital.
