Peter J. Velez of Homosassa, Florida passed away on Friday September 10, 2021. Born October 9, 1941, in San German Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Son of the late Pedro Velez Ponce and Jovita Vega Camacho. Peter served in the United States Marine Corps for four years as Sargeant in Vietnam. He has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Technology. Believe from Bronx Community College or City College of New York where he was valedictorian for his graduation class. Peter worked; in Hostos Community College as an ad-junct teacher and they use to call him Professor Velez. Peter J. Velez and Sandra E. Acevedo married on October 9, 1965, they have three children, oldest daughter, Sandra Velez; oldest son, Peter J. Velez II; and youngest son, Joseph J. Velez. They gave them seven grandchildren, Adasha J. Velez, Lorenzo A. Velez, Joseph J. Velez Jr., C. Jasmine Velaz, Emmie J. Velez, Isabella J. Velez, and Julia E. Velez: one great granddaughter, Athena J. Velez. Perter will be dearly missed by family, friends and all who knew him.
