Philip LaRiviere Obituary

Philip Arthur LaRiviere, 68, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Phil was born on March 19, 1957, in Worcester, Massachusetts, to Francis “Frank” Herman LaRiviere and Mary Louise (LeCour) LaRiviere. Growing up in a large household with seven siblings, Phil learned early on to value family above all else.

A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Phil earned his bachelor’s degree from Worcester State College (now University) and began his career as a social worker in Massachusetts. In 1993, he moved to Spring Hill, Florida, where he embarked on a new chapter. As the owner of MAPA Trucking Inc., he spent many years as an over-the-road driver. In retirement, he was finally able to devote more time to his passions for motorcycles and golf, as well as cherished quality time with his family.

Married for nearly 36 years to Maureen Ann (Ward) LaRiviere, Phil adored his wife and was extremely proud of the life they built together. Known for his outgoing and welcoming personality, he made friends easily in any setting. Whether he was bowling, golfing, or showing his custom bike, his magnetic personality was undeniable. He also had a great love for animals, especially dogs; his loyal companion in recent years was his beloved Abby, a Shih Tzu-Bichon Frisé mix.

Phil is survived by his wife, Maureen Ann LaRiviere; and his children: Derek Justin LaRiviere (Nikki), Shannon Elizabeth Perry, Kaitlin Bridget Agliano (Anthony), and Austin Francis LaRiviere. He is the proud grandfather of Rachel Kennedy LaRiviere, Brady Nicholas LaRiviere, Logan Philip Perry, Anthony Michael Agliano III, and Elizabeth Grace Agliano. He also leaves behind his brothers, Joseph (Faye), James (Catherine), Frederick (Mary Lou), and Daniel LaRiviere (Cindy); his mother-in-law, Mary T. Ward; and a large extended family of brothers- and sisters-in-law, including Francis Ward (Jill), Michael Ward (Patricia), Karen Ward, Mary Pat Schmidt (Karl), Thomas Ward (Catherine), and Kathleen Sketo (Wesley). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Herman LaRiviere and Mary Louise LaRiviere; his father-in-law, Francis H. Ward; and his siblings, Francis “Frank” R. LaRiviere, Rosemarie Ann Lawrence, and Deborah “Debbie” Louise Wambach.
