Robert John Bestercy was born July 14, 1931, in Bridgeport, Connecticut to John and Anna (neeGross) Bestercy.
Robert retired in 1993 as the Director of Manufacturing from the Cornwall & Patterson Company in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
He is survived by his loving wife Lois of 54 years. Lois with whom he has lived in Spring Hill, Florida, since 1994. Robert is also survived by his children Barbara Fisher, Mary Repko (and her husband Mike), Ann Cataldo and Robert Bestercy Jr, as well as 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
He was honorably discharged from the Air Force and very active in his church St. Francis Cabrini, and community including volunteering with the Special Police Organization of Fairfield, Connecticut, and as an usher at St. Emery’s Church also of Fairfield, Connecticut.
His volunteer service continued in Florida and included Hospice and the Spring Hill Sheriff’s Department over 30 years, and well as working with The Big Brother Organization.
Robert was an active member of the VFW, and Treasurer of the Korean War, 4th Degree Knight with The Knights of Columbus.
He was a member of the Polish American League of American Veterans of Spring Hill, Florida, and lifetime member of the Elks Club.
Robert served as a Past Grand Commander of the Order of the Alhambra.
And was proud to be Commissioned as an Honorable Kentucky Colonel of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and blessed those who knew him with his quiet strength and guidance. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
