Retired Syracuse NYPD Deputy Chief, Robert J Galvin passed away @ Sturgill Hospice House, Brooksville, FL.
Mr. Galvin served in the U.S. Army after graduating from Eastwood H.S., receiving an associate’s degree in police science, and 26 years with the NYPD. He was a H.S. basketball referee for 30 years in N.Y. and also referee basketball, softball, and flag football here in Florida. He enjoyed playing golf, tennis, and paddleball but excelled at racquetball earning many trophies, and medals. He was a great husband and father. He and wife of 63 years relocated to Florida in 1995.
Robert is survived by his wife Dolores, sons, Robert. Joseph (Nick), and Timothy (Shannon); 3 granddaughters and 2 great grandsons. Also, brothers, Jim(carol), Bill (Sandra), Tom; sister, Patricia Roe.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, Spring Hill, Florida on Saturday August 23, 2025 @ 10:00am.
In lieu of flower the family asks that you make donation to Hospice House.
