Obituary Robert Hicks
Robert Hicks of Pine Ridge Village peacefully passed away on 26 April at Bayonet Point Hospital after a short stay. Born in Detroit Michigan on 13 January 1936 and attended Cass High School also in Detroit. He left behind his wife of 34 years, Sylvia (Brownell) Hicks . Predeceased by sisters Elizabeth and Emma, as well as brother Jack, all of Detroit. Beloved children Robert J. and Fora Ann also predeceased him. Also survived by stepson Robert Mackin of Flagstaff, Arizona, daughter Linda Sackett of Utah, Lawrence Hicks of California and Leonard Hicks of Utah as well as many grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Bob served in the Marine Corp for 31 years, retiring in 1985 as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. While serving, he was deployed 3 times to Viet Nam and also served on the Yorktown and Midway Aircraft carriers. He subsequently was employed in the Aerospace industry at Northrop Corp. working on the B2 Bomber Program.
