Robert (Bob) C. Netwig
May 23, 1958 – September 21, 2025
Robert Bob” Netwig, 67 passed away on September 21, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of laughter and love. Born May 23, 1958, Bob had a big personality, a quick wit, and a way of making people feel at ease the moment he walked into a room.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Grace Netwig, and his sister, Kathy Netwig. He is survived by his wife, Tracy; children Amanda Henning, and Marc Koelper; stepchildren , Faith Hawk, and Mike Roberts; sister, April McVay; niece, Jennifer Lucas (Willie); nephew, Jeff McVay (Alex); and his lifelong best friend, Gary Mechler (Sharon)- more than a partner – in – crime, he was truly like a brother.
After 30 years of dedicated service with U.S. Postal Service, Bob retired with a reputation for being reliable, hardworking, and always ready with a joke – whether good or bad. His humor was his trademark, and it made even ordinary days brighter.
Outside of work, Bob loved nothing more than tinkering in his garage and spending time with his family and friends. Whether it was telling stories, teasing the people he loved, or cracking a joke that left everyone laughing, he had a rare ability to bring joy wherever he went. His humor was his trademark, and presence tuned ordinary moments into memories worth keeping. “When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure,” and Bob leaves behind countless treasures in the lives of all who knew him.
Although he is gone, the echoes of his laughter and the warmth of his love will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. His legacy is not just in the years he lived, but in the joy, he shared and the countless smiles he inspired.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Downing Funeral Home, 7254 Highpoint Blvd, Brooksville, FL 34613, on Saturday 10/11 4pm - 6pm, service @ 6:00pm, where family and friends will gather to honor him and celebrate the laughter he brought into their lives.
