Ronald Hosack Obituary

Ronald Fredrick Hosack went to be with his Heavenly Father on December 3, 2024 after a 14-month battle with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer.  He was born at home on July 28, 1949.  He grew up in Albion, PA in a little house with a big family. The third of six children, Ron, known to many as Ish, graduated from Northwestern High School and soon after joined the United States Army. He met the love of his life, Denese, while home on leave from the service and they were married not long after at the Homer City Presbyterian Church, Homer City, PA. While serving in Germany he and Denese became parents to their first child, Kelly Lee. Back in the United States, two more children would follow, Casey Lynn and Cory Michael. His family was everything to him. Ron knew things, he was the one you would want on your team when playing trivia, he always knew the answers. Ron worked as a phone man for most of his professional life, retiring from Embarq Communication Systems in Naples, FL, working with people who would become lifelong friends. Ron and Denese lived in Indiana and then Florida, and when their children grew and built families of their own, Ron and Denese relocated to Tennessee to be closer to them.  While in Tennessee, he was lucky enough to be blessed with five grandchildren: Izzy, Eli, Jones, Sunny and Finn, who called him Grampy.

Retirement, the Florida weather and the love of golf pulled Ron with Denese back to Florida where they found a loving community of friends in the golfing community of Timber Pines in Spring Hill, FL.

Smart, witty, kind, loving, caring, fair and honorable, Ron was the kind of man you wanted for a brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather and a friend. His legacy will impact his family for generations to come because Family is Forever.

Ron and Denese would have celebrated their 53rd anniversary on March 4, 2025. They were a match made in heaven.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Maxine Hosack and his sister Bonnie Lingafelter. He is survived by his wife, Denese Knapp Hosack, their children, Kelly Ramos, Casey Moynihan (Chris), and Cory Hosack, his grandchildren, Izabella, Elijah, Jones, Sunny, and Finnigan, his siblings, Cheryl Manner, William Hosack (Barbara), Phillip Hosack, Becky Edwards (Jim), brother in law, Brent McCabe (Karen), sister in laws, Ceci Knapp, Wanda Di Fusco, Jean Knapp, Anne Knapp, and Florence Randall as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to share that per Ron’s wishes, there are no plans for a Funeral Service or Celebration of Life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ron’s honor to HPH Hospice, 12470 Telecom Dr Suite 301 Temple Terrace, FL 33637 or at https://www.chaptershealth.org/foundation/hph-hospice-donation/
