Roy E. Bayes

On October 31, 2019, Roy E. Bayes, age 91, passed away of natural death, while in the Bayfront Health Brooksville, Brooksville, Florida.

Roy Edward Bayes, born in Ashland KY on March 22, 1928, had retired from General Motors, in Dayton Ohio. Roy moved to Florida after his retirement, where he last lived in Brooksville. Roy had been working part time at the local Walmart, where the employees there threw him a 90th birthday party last year.

Roy Bayes was preceded in death by his father, Roy Bayes, of Ashland KY, his mother, Margaret Bayes, of Flatwoods, KY, his brother William “Bill” Bayes, and sister Jean Lemaster of Flatwoods, KY.

Roy is survived by his live-in companion, Christina O’Berin of Brooksville, FL, his sister Betty Beery of Tipp City, OH, his oldest son Dan Bayes of San Angelo TX, his daughter Angela Ionna of Cincinnati, OH, his son Mark Bayes of Huber Heights, OH. Roy has 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Roy was divorced from Ernestyne Bayes, of Springboro, OH.

Roy had served in the Army Air Corp. in late 1940’s, then got out. Roy decided to reenter the military and joined the new U.S. Air Force, and served in various capacities at Air Force Bases in the United States. Roy left the Air Force in 1950.
