Stanley Holmes Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stanley Vincent Holmes, who departed this life peacefully on December 3, 2025, at the age of 73. Stanley was born on December 12, 1951, in Pittsburgh Kansas to Roland and Lora Holmes. Stan was the youngest of his family with two sisters Zoe Ann and Gail and two brothers Neal and Jamie.

Before attending college, Stan accomplished the achievement of scaling Mount Rainier with his sister Zoe Ann. Stan attended college at the University of Pittsburgh to be a teacher but ultimately decided to follow into his father’s footsteps in the business of clay pipe working for Dickey Clay. He worked for the company in Kansas before moving to Florida where he met his wife of 48 years, Patricia.

Stan lived his life grounded by two simple but powerful qualities: a genuine love for his family and friends, and a loyal hardworking spirit. He passed these both on to all those around him. Over the years he served as manager for Scotty’s and Lowe’s, worked at Staff Leasing, and ran a self-owned business with Pat taking pictures of kids on ponies. Through it all, nobody was a harder worker than Stan.

In 1984, Stan received Christ into his heart and began a lifetime relationship with Jesus that served as a backbone for his life. When he wasn’t hard at work, Stan could often be found at church helping wherever he could.

Stan enjoyed reading books, stamp collecting, playing cards, the beach, and watching football. More than anything he enjoyed his family. Stan was a loving husband to his wife Patricia, loving father to three, Frederick, Vincent, and Shannon, and loving grandfather to nine, Titus, Malachi, Lindsey, Cody, Christian, Adilyn, Jazmine, Nicholas, and Destiny. He served as Assistant Scoutmaster and Head Scoutmaster for several years. As an Eagle Scout himself, Stan was proud to see both of his boys and his oldest grandson also achieve the rank of Eagle.

Ultimately, Stan passed to the same Alzheimer’s disease that took his mother, father, sister, and brother. Although his body and mind are gone, his spirit was not overcome and those he is survived by look forward to seeing him again in a better place.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, people make donations to the cure for Alzheimer's and Dementia at: Donate | Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
