Thomas Montalbano Obituary

Thomas F Montalbano was born on May 28, 1946 in Astoria Queens, New York.  Move to Shirley, Long Island with his wife to raise his children.  Retired to Spring Hill, Florida where he got to enjoy his grandchildren.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife Maryann of 51 years, his 3 children Maria (Brandon), Thomas (Janelle), and Roseann, his 6 grandchildren Madison, Maximus, Tommy, Gabriella, Brooklyn, and Lorenzo and his sister Joan.  Thomas is preceded in death by his other sister Patricia.

Thomas worked as a Steamfitter and belonged to Local 638 NY for 55 years. His reason for moving to Long Island was his love of sport fishing, so on the weekends he spent numerous hours on his boat the “Sea Turtle”.  He cherished spending time with each of his grandchildren and loved celebrating and decorating for Christmas every year.  Thomas loved his hertitage, and often referred to himself as being “Sicilian, not Italian”.   Enjoyed listening to music of Grateful Dead, Janice Joplin, Jefferson Airplane and Italian Songs.
