Virginia Morin Obituary

Virginia Morin was born at home on October 10, 1938, in the small town of Ironville, NY. After graduating in a high school class of only 18 students, she earned a teaching degree from Le Moyne University in 1961. Following a year of teaching, she married James Morin in 1962. The couple moved to Seattle, Washington, for James’s career at Boeing, where they welcomed their first child, Amy. A few years later, the family returned east to Glens Falls, NY, where Candace and Douglas were born.

After taking 15 years off to raise her family, Ginny returned to her career in education. She earned a Master’s degree in teaching from The College of St. Rose in Albany, NY, and taught at South Glens Falls High School. Her passion for teaching even took her to Russia as part of a student exchange program.

Throughout her life, Ginny showed great resilience, surviving many health challenges and injuries, including a broken arm, scarlet fever, broken hip, open-heart surgery, and shingles.

In retirement, Ginny moved to Florida and traveled to all seven continents. She remained active by singing in the Timber Tones, volunteering with the PEO, and playing mahjong, golf, and tennis. She was a proud grandmother to James Boettger, Rita Keihl, Megan Sullivan, Brian Sullivan, Ann Morin, and Jack Morin, and a great-grandmother to Inka and Tilda Keihl.

Funeral services will be held on February 14, 2026, at Downing Funeral Home in Spring Hill, FL.
